Being sterilised in your 20s

Hi just wondering what it is like to be relatively young and be sterilised. I'm 29 and due a c section in September and am also booked in to have my tubes tied during. I know I'll end up feeling broody but I think it's in mine and my family's best interests not to have any more c sections. What has it been like to be sterilised this young and how did you deal with any sad feelings or broodiness afterwards? Thanks

How many children have you got?
My best friend was sterilised after her second C Section she also had a stillbirth at 20 weeks.
I know she has had fleeting episodes of broodiness over the years but has always felt it was the right decision for her and her family.

I was sterilised at 28.

It wasn't my tubes that were tied. They made it clear there would never be a chance to to reverse it, with the way they did it (can't exactly remember - possibly laser?!).

Mine wasn't done after a c-section either.

It was a long process and I had to have counselling before they gave me the go ahead. But I'm presuming as you've been give the go ahead already that you may not get that side of things, or have already had it.

I've never looked back or doubted my decision.

It doesn't sound like you're fully accepting of it. Are you actually ok with the decision? Or has your hand been forced at all?

Thanks for the replies. It will be my fourth baby. I haven't had counselling as it was recommended by the consultant, I should really have had it done after my last pregnancy but I wasn't ready. I probably would have gone on to have another in a few years, but I can't risk my health anymore as its my fourth section. I've got a lot of scar tissue.

I had 2 prem babies, during pregnancy with the twins my surgeon was keen to tie my tubes during my planned c section but unfortunately had a last min prem forceps (as I was being gassed to sleep lol).

I could have several more babies, and love them all just as much, but my body obviously just can't cope with it.

My dh had the snip(twice) in the end
