Im 27 & my partner is 35, we have two lovely children & neither of us would like any more children. I have tried every contraception & it turns out im sensitive to hormones. All the contraception (apart from condoms) i have tried has resulted in a lots of sex drive & bad mood swings, which in turn has resulted in issues in our relationship. We tried no hormonal contraception & only condoms, my sex drive went through the roof & i was not moody or snappy anymore. This was perfect until we kept having scares i.e. condoms kept ripping, tried lube & other brands. Dp is now looking at the snip but after researching, even i feel put off for him as a lot of men seem to complain of pain in the balls permenantly after wards. So iv been looking at sterilization. Has anyone else gone through this? Has anyone get any advice? Thank you.

hi my husband has had the snip! we had our 3rd and decided no more! it was his choice! had in this april just gone! i was a little wary but he was adament! he went in and was literally in the room 10 minutes! came out walking like john wayne, he said was painfull but nothing too bad! had 2 weeks off work but could have gone back after a week he said! he occasionally gets a pain in his left ball but thats only if he does too much! but again nothing too bad! i think us women have been through enough with pregnancy and labour! let the man have his turn!

Look at the essure procedure; it's been amazing for me, no op, and sterilised in minutes

Dh had the snip a few weeks ago. Was back at work after 2 days off (had meetings to go to). Had a few twinges in the 2 weeks after but all ok now. Had minimal bruising/swelling too

Have you tried the copper coil..no hormones?

I got sterilised in August this year, the best thing i ever did, there is two ways it can be done, so you maybe best doing a little research, also where I live I had to be referred via my gp to have the procedure done, but I was literally a day case at the hospital, a day off work, was a little sore afterwards but nothing compared to having a baby.

I've also noticed a huge difference in period symptoms been a lot lighter.
