Hi all.

I have been on Cerelle for about 3 years and it has been pretty good. No side effects and only a bit of breakthrough bleeding.

Until last week.

I have been bleeding for a week now including clots, have had backache and stomach cramps, and generally feel wiped out.

I am 46. I don't know if maybe I am heading to the menopause or if this is just a blip.

Anyone got any idea??

What alternatives are there to the POP? The nurse mentioned the Mirena coli but I am not convinced. My friend has something inserted under her skin - not sure what that is...

Thanks all

I believe cerelle is the same as cerazette? If so I had no periods for 6 years and then 3 weeks after our wedding got horrendous clotting and bleeding (clots the size of my thumb). Was in and out of docs and a&e (due to clot sizes) and had scans. Was decided it was hormonal as I'd had a build up of years where I had no period but my womb (that's the clots) needed to shed. I'd maybe go to the docs if you are worried.x
