Feanolla mini pill v mirena coil

I've come away from a consultation at the local sexual health clinic with feanolla to try while I decide if I want to try the mirena.
Dr said the mini pill can cause lots of irregular bleeding and can be quite unpredictable with that, and it can have a greater negative effect on mood, breast pain etc. She said the mirena tends to make bleeding lighter / non existant and should have little negative effects overall on account of it being a low dose of hormones that remain fairly local rather than being in the bloodstream as a whole.
I almost just got one put in then and there so as to have something I don't have to remember to take, but decided to have some thinking space.
Has anyone tried one / the other / both and want to tell me how you found them? I've been off hormonal birth control for 8 years nearly and I'm sort of nervous

Just resurrecting your thread to ask which you went with in the end and how it's been?

Also any other experiences? I've been on feanolla since DS was born, still no AF but also no issues. Thinking about getting the mirena instead. How does it compare, the mirena and mini pill?

The mini pill was hell on earth for me. I bled continuously for a year until I lost my temper at the docs and asked how he would feel with blood running down his legs every day because you worked crazy shifts and hadn't been to the loo for 9 hours. I moved to the coil and was lucky enough to have no issues at all. Very regular very light periods for the first time in my life. God I miss it (but am trying to get pregnant!).

Lots of different issues - I struggled to take the pill at the same time every day which probably didn't help.
