I was on cerazette for 1 year then was put into cerelle without any knowledge. I went for a repeat prescription at my GP, when I collected my pills I noticed they were different ones. My GP told me they are the same thing just different name.
I stopped bleeding after 3 months on cerazette and had no period for 9 months, then started this and started having periods every 2 weeks lasting 3 days at a time. This then stopped and I had nothing for 5 months. Now the last 2 months I've been having bleeding for a day or 2 at a time, then nothing for 3 days then starts again.
It's driving me nuts...
Is anyone else experiencing this at all??
Should I see my GP???

Please any advise would be greatfull thank you in advance

I was on cerezette for 10 years, then had a letter saying tehy were switching me to cerelle for budget reasons but that it was the same pill!
On cerezette my periods stopped completely for the 10 years which i loved, i had very odd spotting and a few proper periods thorugh my own fault when i forgot the pill or got my timings totally wrong coming back from long-haul trips etc.
Been on cerelle 3 months now and had no issues, still no periods and no symptoms either of PMT.
i think with these mini-pills its very common to have irregular periods and spotting, or none at all, however with how erratic yours are i would just pop to the GP or practice nurse and mention it. It might be they put you back on cerezette if this one doesnt agree with you

I think I'm going to book a appointment to see my GP to see what they say. I've had a really heavy period with bad stomach cramps this time. Just wish it would either stop all together or just one now and then rather then every week for a day or 2

Same happened to me with the swapping pills without being told. I have had a couple of bleeds heavier then I ever would before

I've been on cerelle for about 6 months now. I previously had the mirena coil and have heavy periods (changing super plus tampon half hourly at their heavy point). I've now got periods that don't need more than a panty liner to give reassurance.

It hasn't helped my migraines, though, which was why I was put on it.

Yup. I've been on Cerelle for 4 months, having been prescribed Cerazette pre-DS. The random bleeding and mood swings are driving me nuts. I'm going back to the clinic for something else as soon as we're back from holiday.

I was on Cerelle after the birth of my DS, having been happily on Cerazette for years.
I had the worst mood swings and was very down whilst on Cerelle and this all stopped as soon as I went back on Cerazette.
Horrible pill reaction for me.

How did you get switched back tired? When I mentioned my problems to the family planning clinic, they just suggested implant etc.

I just asked the nurse to re prescribe me Cerazette as the other pill was making me feel like I was losing my mind.
I reiterated that it worked fine for me previously and that was it.

My GP switched me to Cerelle from Fermodene (combined pill) 5 months ago after one episode of slightly raised blood pressure. I had no bleeding on the first 2 packs of Cerelle but then continuous low level bleeding lasted for the duration of the 3rd pack with a week’s break and then another 2 weeks bleeding on the 4th pack. I’m now on the 5th pack which I just put in the bin last night because it started to cause terrible mood swings. It was coming on gradually but I pretty much developed a full blown depression on Cerelle in a matter of 5 months.
Previously I had similar symptoms on Yasmin and only got better when I switched to Fermodene. Yasmin only started giving me depression when I went back on it 1.5 years after giving birth whereas before pregnancy I didn’t really have any problems with it. When my depression first started on Yasmin the GP tried to put me on anti-depressants which made me even worse. It seems it didn’t occur to him that my pill was responsible.
Only now having had the same reaction to Cerelle I finally came to the conclusion that my miserable existence after giving birth was not a delayed post natal depression and not the stress of becoming a mum but purely and simply side effect of the pill. By the way Cerelle lists depression at the top of its common side effects.
I now persuaded my GP to put me on Qlaira (combined pill), it is relatively new and has mixed reviews but some people reported being happy with it. My GP has never heard of it but agreed to give it a go.
