Miscarried but still getting positive result

Hi,
I miscarried with my 5th (something I've never been through) but after being to retest it's still saying positive. I had a scan booked for the day after tomorrow at the EPU to confirm that I have miscarried. Has this happened to anyone else? Or have people been told they have miscarried but the pregnancy still continued?

it can stay positive for around a week after the miscarriage or it could mean that not every thing has come away
