mirena + pain.....help

Hey all, I've had the mirena in since 17/11/15.... I bled for exactly a month then it stopped and I had heavy discharge ever since but now I have issues.......a couple week ago I started with pains that didn't budge so I went to the nurse n she checked it and did an infection test, she says she thinks it may have moved up as the strings are really short but not sure as no-one put on my records how long the strings were at begin with..... She said that I need a scan and it could take weeks for the appt to come through and to go to A+E if pain gets any worse....nearly a week later the pains are still the same with the odd extra sharp twinge but when I went to the loo today I noticed a small lump of blood on the tissue (nothing down the loo or on my sanitary towels) ....should I be concerned or is it normal to begin a bleed again?

Sorry for rambling :)

Bleeding is quite common at first with the mirena. Try not to worry. How painful are the pains? Could just be settling down?

It doesn't sound normal. I had a few days of painful bleeding but nothing since and definitely no sharp twinges.

Can you ask to see the Dr who inserted it? It sounds like the nurse hasn't been reassuring at all...

I think I'd go to A&E in your situation, better safe than sorry

Btw I'm assuming you mean you have non- period type pain. I had really sore pains feeling like my womb was being pulled down, but nothing sharp

After my 2nd coil I had months of bleeding
I've also had one MIA which was found on a scan
This new one also has very short strings and will be a bugger to remove
Thank god I have it all done under general

Thanks guys, the sharp twinge I'm getting is nothing like a period pain, it feels more like a stabbing in my pelvic area & like I'm being squeezed around my pubic bone area (if that makes any sense) I didn't even have any pain when I had it done.... The bleed I had today was like a mini 5p size clot it's the only one I've had today but it worried me a little cos I haven't had anything since my bleeding stopped.
