Mirena's moved somewhere

No it hasn't packed its bags... but who knows where it is. Up until now I haven't found the Mirena too bad overall so it seemed a better alternative than the heavy and frequent periods I was getting beforehand. If anything my mood improved as I was getting awful PMS before too. Then a few weeks back I realised I couldn't feel my strings any more and seemed to be getting more spotting when previously that was very infrequent. I've been to the doctor and she thinks it's most likely to be in the cervical canal so I'm going to be booked in for a scan.

Has this happened to anyone else and if so, what happened? Did they find it or is it possible (I hope) that it could just fall out without it being noticed?

Mine was still in place but the strings had gone through my cervix so couldn't be felt. Kinda dreading what happens when it needs to be removed.

Yes, I guess that's a possibility too. I'm a bit surprised they didn't remove yours when they found that out, tbh.

I think they decided it was in place doing its job so left it there. I had internal ultrasound and xray to find it

I've been given an appointment for the internal ultrasound in just under a couple of weeks. No xray appt yet but I guess they'll decide on that after they see the result of the ultrasound.

I had the scan. I have the same issue as you, dementedpixie in that it's in the right place but the strings are tucked up inside. So I'm leaving it for another two years until it's due to come out anyway. Not looking forward to that!
