Tell me about the mini pill

I'm 27, 4 months postpartum, starting to think about contraceptive methods other than condoms, because tbh I find them a bit of a pain.

I am EBF DD, which I know in itself gives some protection, but considering she's only 4 months old I'd rather not take the risk!

I used to take Microgynon some years ago, but I stopped as I found I had a bad reaction to it - horrendous mood swings etc. It's the reason I've avoided hormonal contraception since as I'm afraid of anything that might mess with my head.

I was wondering about the mini pill as a possibility as I figure it's easy enough to stop if I do react badly to it.

So... Any thoughts/opinions? Anything else I could maybe consider that I've missed?
