Urgent missed pill advice

Hi,

I am on the yasmin contraception pill and I missed Fridays pill (pill number 7) and have taken the pill as normal since, unfortunately during intercourse with my partner last night the condom split. Will I be protected? Or should I go and get emergency contraception as we aren't in the position to have another baby. Advice would be gratefully received x

I'd get the map just in case. This happened to me and the Dr said I'd be OK. I just wasn't willing to risk it!

Go and get emergency contraception.

If you miss a pill you may not be covered for 7 days after but given that it's a combined pill and you only missed one (how late was it or did you skip a day entirely?) it is unlikely you will be pregnant.

There's also the iud which can be fitted up to 5 days after sex.

Thank you, I skipped it completely I was staying at my mums and forgot my tablets. I think I will go and get the MAP just incase

You do have 12 hours from when you normally take it before it's classed as late/missed. How many hours passed between the two you did take? A full 48 hours?

Yes 24 hours before I took the next pill. I have been and had the MAP just in case thank you for your help
