Anyway to stop a period?

Looking for any advice, experiences around stopping a period for a special event. I have a holiday coming up and I have very heavy bleeding with clots so would like to not have one while I'm away, any options?

Its pretty tricky, your GP can give you some tablets that are similar to the pill but with higher hormones but in my experience they don't always work if your periods are heavy, they might make it much lighter though. You m
Need to get them a few weeks before your holiday,

Norethisterone will delay a period. I use it when I go on holiday.

The pill might not stop your period but if you start it a month and a but before your holiday you can make it so your period is before your holiday, so no need to try and hold it off.

I've used the pill before - if you skip the week of not taking it then you skip the period, but I don't think that's guaranteed for everyone.

Try bringing it up with your GP.

I was given a pill specially for woman in ur situations to stop my heavy period temporarily ask your gp for it not sure of the name but there tiny little tablets x

Tranexamic acid can help reduce v.heavy bleeding.

Is this something you ought to otherwise be getting checked over for?
