Mirena removed today....what happens next?

I had my mirena removed this morning after 2.5 years.

I have gained almost 2 stone and had terrible mood swings, incredible highs and lows and often snappy and angry for no reason at the drop of a hat! My poor children and husband!

I had it fitted in Feb2013 when I was 39 because my periods were truly dreadful after child #3 born in Jan2012. I waited a year and nothing helped with the flooding and cramps so I opted for the mirena as a 2 fold approach - contraception and period control.

My sister had one fitted 3 months ago and has put on 10b and she is a healthy eating freak and regularly goes to the gym. That said I am hardly sedentary running around after 3 kids and walking the dog!

I had not really thought to put together all my symptoms....but when I did the mirena seemed to be if not the cause then a contributing factor.

I am prepared for the coming bleeding and cramps as I had the mirena after DD#2 but only for 6month, having it removed to try for #3. But I have no idea when my periods will return or how they will be.

I am hopeful that some of the weight, which seems to be mainly around my middle will start to shift.

Any guidance as to how things may go please share....thank you Smile
