options beside mirena coil?

It's coming up to 4 months after I had the mirena fitted and I'm considering giving up on it. I bled heavily for months after it was fitted and am still spotting now, I've been diagnosed with depression and am now wondering how much the mirena has to do with this current episode. In short, I'm wondering if life would be better if I just gave up and moved on to something else.

I'm very, very certain I don't want any more kids, and have considered sterilisation but it just seems a bit too permanent right now. DH is the same. I remember some contraceptives weren't suitable as I'm BFing, though can't remember which ones, and we don't like condoms. So what other options might work when I'm still BFing my DS and could be for another year yet?

mini pill, depo injection, condoms are all suitable if bf

Thanks dementedpixie, I'll have to do some feeding up on them.

I've got a copper coil. I love it because there's no hormones involved I don't get any of the mood side effects I used to get on the mini pill. Only down side is my periods are a bit heavier than they would be normally but that seems a small price to pay for not having to think about contraception again for 10 years and no crazy mood swings.
