Iv had it in for almost two weeks now and thrs always blood coming through but in very small amounts. So using panty liners. I had sharp pains in my left thigh n cramping straight after the fitting that only last a few hours.

Would this mild bleeding/spotting stop. Its really annoying. Cant tell if my period is stretching out or not?? Thank you.

I haven't had a copper coil, but I remember that after I had a mirena fitted I bled for a few weeks which was really annoying. Once it finally stopped, though, I had no periods at all which is wonderful.

Hope it settles down for you soon.

Thank you for the reply. Hoping it will stop soon. And omg no period. Although that would be ideal, isn't that not good for the body??

I think it's OK because the mirena prevents the uterus lining from building up. Also, at my age it's a blessed relief not to have periods!

I've just posted a topic kind of similar to this. I've had copper coil for 2 months now.
I got a withdrawal bleed (i'd been on minipill before) over xmas and then stopped bleeding, then mid january i started spotting and i've pretty much not stopped spotting since then. I keep thinking it will develop into a proper period but it seems to only ever be a pantyliner's worth. I'm hoping to get a proper period soon to put an end to this incessant spotting. My GP doesn't seem concerned though she says its normal for your body to adjust to coming off the pill.

I'll keep you posted!
