Sterilisation?

Has anyone been sterilised can you tell me your experience good, bad or indifferent? What's the recovery time and pain like? How quickly were you home and back to work eyc

I've been done. I had a laparoscopic sterilisation.

Went in at 7am, I was first on the list so was done very quickly.
Was put under GA, woke up feeling dopey a little while later and said some stupid stuff. After an hour they phoned dh to come and get me.

Recovery was fine, I rested for a few days and after that I could get about if I took it slowly.
I was unlucky and got a massive infection though and nearly had to be hospitalised, which dragged out the recovery for a few weeks.

Had no problems with it since then.

Thanks for your reply. How old was your youngest dc at the time. My dd has just gone 1 I don't know if to wait until she is a big bigger/able to understand not to jump all over me etc

My youngest was 4. Didn't stop him from jumping on me though!
