Cerelle - heavy bleeding

Hi all, I'm 10 weeks postpartum and at my 8 weeks check I asked to go back on to Cerazette to be told it's now Cerelle which is the same apparently. I was on Cerazette for 2 years before I came off in 2012, I had 4 miscarriages then had my beautiful daughter. I never had any problems with Cerazette and I didn't have a period for the whole time so I loved it. I was previously on microgynon but apparently I was too fat to use it so I switched but was much happier anyway!

Anyway I started Cerelle 2 weeks ago and have been bleeding extremely heavily ever since with clots too. It is genuinely worse than 3 of my miscarriages were. I can't leave the house because I'm leaking and going through pads every hour/2 hours.

Yesterday I went to the doctors and he gave me some extra progesterone to take to try to break the cycle of these hormones or something he said. He confirmed it wasn't anything to do with being a new mum so thinks it's the pill.

Today I feel worse, exhausted and like I'm having a terrible period. I'm thinking of just stopping taking it altogether. Had anyone else had this? I've googled and seems it might settle after 6 months?! I'm not bleeding like this for 6 months. Has anyone else had this awful bleeding?

I'm breastfeeding my little one, what else could I take?

Hi furryleopard. I'm in exactly the same situation. 8 week old baby and been on all the past pills you have been. Now taken cerelle for 4 days and been bleeding since the first day I took it! No idea how long it will last so just here for empathy and to jump on the band wagon to see what others say. Seriously hope it's not 6 months. The reason for going on it was to be able to DTD again but all this bleeding is no good at all. I think DP thinks I've gone off him. Also breastfeeding so didn't even think it was possible yo get a period. I suppose though that this isn't technically a period.

Can take up to 6 months for bleeding to regulate unfortunately , three months for most. You can either carry on or try something else . Unfortunately this is a very common side effect . How much over BMi 30 are you? Would be good if maybe you could get back down to below 30 to get back to microgynon ( now rigevidon where I am) . If that's easier said than done you need to decide if you can carry on, hope it goes well for you

I am also taking cerelle and have had awful heavy periods since taking it 3-4 weeks ago. It's horrible and I have never had this before
