What to choose?

I had my post natal appt with GP yesterday. I need to decide on contraception. DD1 is 2 and DD2 is 5 weeks. I am breastfeeding. I was on the Marvelon pill and an Implanon implant before I had children. I can't take Marvelon whilst bf. We have not decided if we want another child. Our original plan was 3 but this last pg was tough. I am 37. Non-smoker.

So....pros and cons?
Coil?
Implant?
Ring?
Mini pill?

Any others? Any advice?

nuvaring is a combined contraceptive so dont think it is compatible with bf. mini-pill is the easiest to reverse as you just stop taking it.

I loved my Mirena. Much less hormone impact than other methods and virtually no periods for 5 years.

I second Mirena, they're great!

Minera is the coil?

mirena is the coil with hormones in it. You can also get a copper coil that has no hormones

I love my mirena coil. No side effects. One day of bleeding a month if that.

Painful to insert?

How does it come out?

uncomfortable rather than painful - I took painkillers beforehand

they use the attached strings to get it back out (although I havent had mine removed yet)
