Irregular bleeding with copper coil

Has anyone else suffered from this? I had the coil fitted in February and have some months where things are ok but the last few months I have been bleeding for ten days. I am now only 3 weeks in to my cycle and am bleeding again. I could just cry, I am so fed up with it. Just wondered if this is just something I have to put up with or should I go to the docs?

I had similar issues. I then from wearing pads all the time ended up with awful thrush so I had the blasted thing taken out again. I bled up to 20 days in my cycle lovely.....

Great, I think I am getting close to wanting it out. Problem is I can't take hormonal contraceptives so it limits my choice a lot. Did your periods settle down quickly after having it out?

Yes, they went back to normal. I had another baby then got sterilised - absolutely brilliant but not for everyone obviously!
