Coil v pill

Hi there I'm fairly new and never posted before.
I'm 43 , I have regular periods. I'm in a dilemma as to which to go for. Each month when my period appears, I breathe a sigh of relief knowing I'm not pregnant. With the coil and prog only pill ( am I correct in thinking ) that you don't get a period!! I REALLY DONT WANT A HAPPY ACCIDENT. I know I'd take a pill regularly as I'm quite fastidious about these things so does anyone out there also favour the pill over the coil ?
Also hearing that GPs get paid more for fitting coils doesn't make my desicion easier.
Thanks

different women get different effects from the POP i.e. some bleed a lot, some have normal periods, some get no periods. I had fortnightly periods with 2 I tried and the third one (cerazette) stopped them completely.

I have the mirena coil and it has stopped my periods too. I am not looking forward to the removal though as the strings have disappeared through my cervix although the coil is still in place (had x-ray and ultrasound to check!). I wish I had stuck with the pill tbh.

The copper coil doesnt tend to stop periods and has no hormones so maybe that could be an option for you

Thankyou, I'll look into the copper coil x
