Weight gain on citalopram?

Anyone else found their weight going up on citalopram? I've been steadily gaining weight over the past year now and apart from getting older, 40 this year, my food and exercise is the same as normal. I think.

I read it can suppress the full switch perhaps? So you eat more without realising it?

Citalopram is an anti-depressant & yes, I've put on over a stone on whilst taking it & can't shift it by dieting.

Thanks, I'm going to see the GP tomorrow and ask about it. I think I might be ok coming off my low dose soonish so want to discuss whether that could help the weight or not.
