Mirena strings, are they a problem for men?

About to have my first one fitted and have been googling. Am coming across words like fishing wire and people being advised to not go in too deep/continue to wear a condom/be gentle etc to avoid the man being hurt.

Is this just Dr Google playing usual tricks or a serious problem that the drs don't tell you? Am a bit worried about it now.

My DP is above average in size and only occasionally gets sore from them.
They took some getting used to but they seem to soften a bit the longer they're in there.

I wouldn't worry too much, they wouldn't put them in if it could actually hurt your partner.
It's the best contraceptive I've ever had and I've tried a few.
My mood swings are nearly gone, I don't bleed, and I dropped two stone I gained from the implant in less than 6 months.

DH finds it a bit distracting sometimes, he says they poke him if we're in certain positions. I've offered to go and get the strings trimmed, but he said not to bother, so it can't be that much of a big deal.

Mine are kind of wrapped around my cervix so they're all tucked away!

I think you should just try it and see. Saw one being taken out the other day and it took seconds.

Thanks all. DH thinks it's the answer to all his prayers (he swerved the snip so thinks this is great). All I can see is cramping, random bleeding, the bloody thing falling out and, more worrying for me personally, mood swings. I'm having a bad time with depression anyway and my GP did say it was the one thing she was slightly concerned about but that we'd see what happened.
