We moved 3 weeks ago into a council house and since moving me dp and ds have been getting bitten by something all over out ankles and legs, we have no pets we have searched for bedbugs couldn't find any signs and it was our own furniture we brought and new carpets and flooring laid.
Has anyone experienced this before I'm actually thinking of going to sleep in the car as I get new bites every morning that are red and very itchy and we have all been using ds's antihistamines and eczema cream that helps a little but we are unsure what to do.

you are in the wrong topic but i will bet you have fleas in the house - the previous tenants may have had cats or dogs.
fleas can live in carpets and lie dormant until something tasty and warm blooded comes along.
ie - you.

you will need to get a flea treatment for soft furnishings or rip out the carpets and start again.
it wont be bed bugs. simple fleas. easy enough to treat - ask a vet for advice. there are some decent sprays etc for carpets/soft furnishings/ but get them from a vet rather than the supermarket....vets products are way more effective.
you will need to treat all carpets, soft furnishings.

A vacuum cleaner, preferably an upright, is good for getting the fleas and their eggs out of the carpet (which is the usual cause of anklebites)

Thankyou both will head out for some things today and get started, hopefully we can get rid of them soon.
