Help! Contraceptive pill querie

i recently got given the contraceptive pill. today i thought i had started my period so took my first pill but it turns out i wasnt on. should i keep taking the pill now or wait till i start my period? thank you!

I would keep taking it. You can start the pill at any time (as long as you are sure you are not pregnant) but if taken when not on the first day of your period you would need to take extra precautions for the first 7 days.
