Mirena Coil Fitted While Period Due --No Period?

Hi, I'm just looking for some experiences after having Mirena coil fitted
I was due my period around last Monday (31st March) and I was booked in to have my coil fitted on the Wednesday (2nd April) my period hadnt arrived but the GP fitted it anyway, tmi...shd said her prodding around in there may help bring it on.

Fitting went fine not much pain until a hour or so after which felt like early stages of labor! this eased off by the next day and I just had slight cramps.

So it is now Sunday (6th April) and I still havnt got my period, more tmi....I had nookie with my partner Saturday and today (which usually brings my period if its at the time when I'm due) but still nothing.

Has anyone else had this?
I know the Mirena is known to lighten / stop periods and is suppose to be effective straight away but surely if I was due 2 days before fitting it would still arrive regardless

are you positive that you couldnt be pregnant before the fitting? Could you do a test just to rule that out. I wasnt having periods before mine was fitted but was on the mini pill that stopped them so I was pretty sure I wasnt pregnant.

I done a test this morning and it was negative so that rules that out I guess having the fitting interrupted my cycle x
