Any experience of taking Nacrez mini pill?!

I starting taking this pill just before Christmas, have just started my 2nd packet.

I was previously on Yasmin with no side effects other than crazy headaches when I was having the 'break'.

I started the Nacrez on day 1 of my period, all fine, my period ended as normal but 2 weeks later I started bleeding again....and have continued for 11 days now. My Dr warned of irregular spotting but this isn't irregular...it's very regular indeed!!

Can anyone shed any light on whether this is normal and it will tail off or this is how it may be for the foreseeable?!

by googling Nacrez seems to be the equivalent of the cerazette mini pill and that can cause constant bleeding, no bleeding and anything in between as well! I had no bleeding with cerazette. It may settle down if you persevere or it may not.

Thanks that's the only information I could find myself. I was just vaguely hoping there were other who had started like this then settled it down...but think only a crystal ball could answer this for me by the looks of it.

I've been taking nacrez for 6 months. Today I gave up and asked the Dr to change it! I was on femulen for years, but they very kindly stopped making it!!! Although it was a mini pill, I had a regular "normal" period every month. With nacrez I seem to be bleeding more than I'm not! My periods do seem lighter and further apart, but they last for at least 12 days, followed by a 5 day break before starting again for another week!! The only good point (and i say this very loosely) there has been none of the usual bad period pain. I'm almost relieved to discover I'm not the only woman suffering from this. I hope your problem settles down for you. My dr said as I'd been taking it for over 6 months, this was likely to now be my regular pattern. Just hoping this new pill isn't exactly the same!

Aw thank you and sorry you've had a nightmare 6 months!! I've actually stopped bleeding now but only after 12 days, admittedly lighter than a usual period but still a complete inconvenience!! 1 week of no bleeding has been great but I'm almost just waiting for round 2...!?! I was on cerazette (an alternative to nacrez) for years problem free until I had DD. After her birth I had constant but very very light bleeding. I tried going back on the combined but found I constantly skipped the break due to my hatred of periods so went back to cerazette. The bleeding stopped for months but slowly came back. Since, I have been moved to nacrez and have not bled but possibly it's what is causing my face to break out in teenage acne

Anyway, to sum up, try another mini pill brand. Just because nacrez doesn't quite agree with you, does not mean cerazette or another desogestrel tablet won't suit you perfectly

Well, touch wood, I have had 2 weeks without any bleeding now whatsoever so maybe its starting to get into my system now. I will wait and see how I get on over the next few weeks, whether my bleed before was actually a prolonged period?!

I have a follow up appt with my GP to discuss the change when I'm due my next pack so if do end up struggling again ill definitely ask about Cerazette thank you

I was on cerezette for years with no problem at all. My last prescription was dispensed as Nacrez and 2 mths in I have irregular bleeding, hair loss and other symptoms mentioned on the info leaflet. I have called my gp and now have cerezette back! They can save money elsewhere .

I am on my first month of nacrez and although I am only half way through the pack, my period has just started.

Do I carry on taking the pills or stop for a few days? Do I ever have a break from taking them out just carry on?

I started on Nacrez im on month 6 . The first 2 months my bleeding was all over the place. However now i have no bleeding at all. 4 months free of having a period. However i am sweating more than i used too and i think im gaining weight. Not sure if its the pill or bad diet of late.
Has anyone gained weight with Nacrez?
