I had my implant fitted on the 22nd of august 2013, but just recently ive been having weird side effects and need advice. For starters I can eat for england now, whereas I ate very little in comparison before. Now im having a really strange period in which im only bleeding or getting cramp at night (starting at about 2 to 4 in the morning) but its really heavy bleeding and horrible pain. Im also having terrible mood swings, like, crying for hours over practically nothing, this is the first problem ive had with it and it has been great up until now. Anyone experiencing or have experienced anything similar? Just worried and after advice, thanks

I just posted in another thread about implants. I had this, I turned into a weird psycho bitch from hell! Dr advised cerazette (minipill) as well as implant and so far it seems to have settled down.

I do think it is worth going to dr about it, emphasizing the emotional upheaval. I was at the point of going insane!

I had this. I was fine for the first 6 or so months and raved about how good the implant was and then I started to get strange side effects.

Non stop hunger, tiredness and lethergy, mood swings, I put on 8lbs. I eventually got it taken out when I realised I had been on my period for 6 weeks without a break.

My tiredness was due to all the bleeding, I was slightly anaemic. Get some ferrous sulphate or an iron supplement from the chemist and see if it helps.

I posted on another thread too but in short, yes I am always really tired, I'm moody and frustrated most of the time. I'm not sure if it's connected either but am seeing the doctor next week to discuss with her. I've been bleeding for about 3 months constantly.

I've had my implant 3 years (due to replace soon) and have had no problems - next to no periods .. which I love after they got horrendous post DC

no other issues at all!
