Was you aloud to take your child(ren)?
Did they show you how to check it was still in place?

I had it fitted, was told to make an appointment to have it checked in 4 weeks then I was on my way.
I've been using condoms still because I haven't checked because I don't know what the hell to do! first time having it

And will I be able to take my kids with me during the check up? I literally do not have any childcare..

You will just be shown to feel the strings to check that it is in place. You will be behind a curtain so you could take children and they could stay on the other side, depending on how old they are and so long as they are not disruptive. The time/procedure would be comparable to a smear.
