Hi everyone. I have been on the implant for 5 years now, did a full three years on Implanon and am now on Nexplanon, which is slowly but surely ruining my life. Before Implants I used the Microgynon pill, which was okay when I remembered to take it.

I want to get my implant removed but the GP is saying if I do he can not offer me the pill or Depo Provera injection as I have put on a lot of weight with the nexplanon and apparently at my current weight the pill or injection wouldn't be as effective. Which I believe as I have put on a lot of weight- which I have been trying and struggling to shift, but am not having much luck...

My mum (we are both young parents) has the coil fitted, she can't remember witch one but she said it was the new one fitted not long ago and said it was really good, and was wondering if anyone has anything to say on this, or any advice would be really helpful.

Am at the end of my tether with this f***g thing.

Thanks in advance

I have a Mirena coil which I'm very happy with. Just had a second one put it and this time went to the family planning clinic which was much less painful than when I had it done at the doctors.
