Dryness with Mirena?....Vaginal Ring?....

Hi all,
I've had a Mirena coil for just over 3 years. It has been brilliant, until the last 3 months or so when I've been getting breakthough bleeding (more like spotting) and mild period pains. I've also been getting really dry, making sex quite uncomfortable at times, despite using lube (sorry if TMI). Not sure if this is also down to the Mirena?

I went to the Sexual Health clinic tonight, they have suggested I either remove and replace my Mirena or try a vaginal ring (she said the ring is oestrogen as well as progesteron so can lessen dryness).

Does anyone have any advice to offer? (I hadn't heard of the ring until today). Just trying to work out what has suddenly changed and what is the best route for me.

Thank you xx

Not sure what the best way is for you but I've been looking at Mirena and depression tonight, then saw your post. Just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone. I'm dry too and never have been before, was beginning to think it was my age but it is such a dramatic difference that I don't think it can be...

Thank you Bunny,
I too am thinking it could be age or Mirena, but it was a dramatic change for me too. I'm so confused! Beginning to think about 'The Snip'! ;)

(I had a lot of anxiety last year and wondered if that was Mirena related, it has settled now though, so guessing probably not.)
