Can the implant 'stop working'?

I have the implant for contraception at the moment, had it mainly problem free for last 2.5 years. Due to have it out in September, but having a proper period for the first time on it!

I have recently started really working out - can my metabolism be using up the hormone in the implant too quickly and it's not actually protecting me anymore?

I only ask because aside from a few spots here and there I have not had a period and this is like it used to be before I was on any hormones/contraception (owwwwww)

Please help!

I was wondering this too. Mine is due to come out Feb next year and I have just started to have periods again and lots of other hormone related stuff.

So if anyone knows the answer...
