Hi,

I've been on the implanon for 2 and half years now, I've done ok on it , apart from a good few stone weight gain!! :( however since I had the implant inserted I hadn't had any periods which was bonus untill 3 months ago I have had 3 regular periods all be its been lighter than the periods I would usually get on no contraception. It's been every 28 days and lasting for 5 days which was what my cycle was like before the implanon. Now I'm slightly worried its ran out early, especially as I've heard weight gain can have this effect,. I've seen my gp and he just shrugged it off with "it lasts 3 years and you can't get pregnant", I spoke to a family planning nurse on the telephone where I had gone to have the implanon and asked if she thought I needed it checked out or removed and I got the same reply from her. Has anybody else experienced this in the last months of there impant? Or has anybody's implant ran out early ?

I got that after about a year, except I was super moody and had almost constant period. All the research I did makes me think its still working then, it's just reduced the hormones a little as it runs out. However I had mine removed as my symptoms were rubbish!
