Bleeding restarting after years with Mirena?

I've used Mirena for two years with no problems. When it was fitted I had on and off bleeding for six months, but then for the last 18 months I've had no bleeding at all - nothing, not even spotting. Now, for the last couple of months I've had two or three incidences of spotting that lasted a couple of days - not a proper bleed, more a brownish discharge similar to the last day of a normal period. Should I be concerned? Is it normal for bleeding to start up again like this after so long?

I had this, I now sometimes have mini periods. I got sent for a smear which came back clear and told unless I was anemic there was no problem. I was worried it has dislodged (which did happen once before, but actually that really hurt and I had to remove it) but the nurse said it was in place. Personally I'd check with a doctor just to put your mind at rest.

Ok, thanks Horopu. I guess I'll just fret about it if I don't get it checked, so probably best.
