I had a copper coil fitted last year but the nurse couldn't find the strings during a check a couple of weeks ago. The GP referred me for an ultrasound scan to check whether the coil's still there. I'm having the scan on Friday. Has anyone else had this? Thought it would be an external scan (like pregnancy scans) but google suggests it might be internal. I was going to take my 18mo ds with me to avoid dp having to take a day off work just for a 2min scan but don't think I can have a toddler running around while I have an internal scan... Also bit nervous about what happens if it's there & they have to take it out. A bit of reassurance would be great!
