Copper coil - when will the bleeding stop?!

Really hoping for some success stories here. I had the copper coil fitted a month ago and I've bled every day. Is this normal?

It's hard to say what's official period or not as it's been heavy/light/down to spotting/suddenly back to very heavy and so on...

I had already come off Cerazette two weeks beforehand but could I still be reacting to that?

Also, going from different brands of mini-pill to miscarriage to using nothing to a successful pregnancy and then 10 months of breastfeeding, back to the mini-pill, I have absolutely no idea what's normal anymore in terms of my cycle! Dr said you'll go back to normal by six weeks max but how am I supposed to know what that is?!

I'm desperate for the coil to work as my contraception choices are severely limited due to other health issues - migraine, stroke risk etc.

How long did it take yours to settle down after fitting? Thanks! x

Not as long as that. Sorry I know that is not very reassuring but I didn't want to leave your thread unanswered.

It does seem like quite a long time. What does it say in the leaflet?

Have you had any resolution to your problem, or any medical advice yet? I hope so.

I ask, because it turns out I have a very similar situation to you. I have been given some tablets to stop the bleeding.

And it just goes in and on! Has anyone else had this settle down after the first 2 months? I don't think I can go on much longer like this, and the tablets are a bit heavy duty to be taking regularly.
