DH was getting the snip but we aren't 100% sure.

I want to come off the pill for a few reasons.

I think the CC would be the best choice for me second to him getting the snip, that just seems too drastic.

Thanks.

I've had one for a couple of years now. No issues so far, but I have always had very light periods.

I've been on the pill for years (when not pregnant) and my periods are light now.

Was it painful having it put in?

I've actually had 3, as I had them before dcs as well (and before I was diagnosed with infertility!)

The only one that was a problem was the second, which was badly done and so hurt on being put in and never settled - I spotted for months until I had it out.

The other two were no worse than a smear. Not pleasant, but OK.

The first one that I had was put in by my GP, who was trained to do so. I had problems with it but kept going as I didn't want to go on the pill. It took 6 months before it settled down.
Then I had to see a Gynaecologist for another issue and he told me that the first one wasn't put in properly and he would change it when he carried out a small procedure on me. That was in June and I've had no problems.
Personally I am in favour of them if it means that I am using contraception without hormones.
