copper coil & pg symptoms! Help!

I had coil fitted last November, all has been fine heavier periods & spotting before/after af. But a few days ago I started to notice excess saliva & generally feeling queasy (had this dc2 from about 8wk) my last period was ok, not as heavy as some have been but they change every month anyway. I had quite lot spotting on 11th Aug then proper ad from 14th-17th inclusive. I am certain last week I ovulated, remember quite bit egg white discharge & few mild cramps. But last night I started to get bad low down cramps & the most uncomfortable dull low down back ache, also was freezing cold but woke in night boiling hot & still with back ache. Worried I'm either pg or maybe coil infected?? I checked & it's in place. So worried as really really don't want any more dc! Should say I have had intercourse between when I thought I ovulated & today! Any similar experiences or advice, thank you.

have had similar, in that my cycle is af, ov cd 12 ish and then af starts slow and achey cd 22ish with lots of just spotting for first couple of days. i might spot a bit on cd 18ish too. but then af always comes! copper coil too. infection (BV) is usually ovbious by the smell..... if you have any concerns re other infections, get swabs done by nurse at gp. good luck, i'm sure you will be fine. i think it took about 9 month for my coil to settle in. hth

when is af due? it sounds like not quite yet?

Clockless thank you for replying to my post. Af isn't due till around 11th or so. Over the weekend I've had bad headaches & a rash appeared on my limbs & tummy. Did pg test yesterday & was negative but know way too early really. Have been to Dr this am & said almost certain viral infection, has booked me in for blood teat to make sure not pg & check for thyroid & anemia. He said the coil is almost 100% safe, so praying he's right & that I start to feel better soon.

I do hope you are starting to feel better. You have Made every effort not to get pregnant.... There's little else you can do. It's not like you are on the pill and forget, you have had a device medically inserted, so try not to worry about it. It is incredibly unlikely you would be so unlucky, I hope you will be able to relax about it! Thanks
