Cerazatte bleeding question

mumofjust1 · 06/08/2012 15:32

I started taking Cerazette halfway through my cycle and have now been taking it for a month - e days left in my first strip.

I started bleeding 6 days ago, so a week after I would have been due - very little period pain, no clotting or flooding like I usually have, and what I would consider a normal flow.

Just wondering, if cerazette is going to stop my period, how long does it take? I assumed it would happen straight away.
Also wondering if cerazette affected your periods, how they affected them and how the changes progressed over the months?

Thanks

I had one period with cerazette and then they stopped. I did get the odd occasion with spotting/few days of bleeding but was mostly period free for about 3 years. Some people get lots of bleeding with cerazette so it can go both ways.

I had odd spotting for about 8 weeks after starting on cerazette, after that no periods whatsoever and its been 2 years now. I love cerazette!

Not all women will stop bleeding with Cerazette.

Those that do find it tends to happen within 3 months of starting it.

Those that don't stop bleeding completely find that their periods generally tend to be lighter, less painful and less frequent.

But there are some women who still have a normal monthly period.

It took several months to stop bleeding for me. It does start working surprisingly quickly, sounds like you are already experiencing some benefit from it!

Thanks for the reassurance Smile

Still bleeding but glad to know it's not that unusual. Will finish the rest of the pack and see what happens.

I had the coil out as I was bleeding 3 weeks out of 4!

I've started cerazette after many years off the pill. I started it on day 4 of my period, had a few clear days and am now into day 10 of continual spotting. Is this normal - tbh this spotting is getting me down. I haven't yet finished my first pack - am wondering how long I should persevere before going back to the doc ?

hey Faker, i had this with Cerazette. I also had extreme mood swings. The combination of both made me come off it at the end of my 3 month trial period. The spotting continued for me for the whole 3 months.
