Implanon/Nexplanon - should it look like this?!

Just had my implant changed after 3 years. First implant was removed from left arm (and fuck me, that was unpleasant!) and new implant inserted into right arm.

Left arm healing nicely, no bruising, but new implant still very sore (feels like I am being stabbed in the arm) 72 hours later and looks like

this

I'm sure it wasn't this bad last time!

Can anyone advise? Or does it often take time to get comfy.

Thanks Smile

The pic is small, but yes, mine looked similar.

I'm sure I was told to keep the compression bandage on for 5 days - that might be your problem.

the new inserter seems to make it miles more likely to bruise loads so i@d say normal for nexplanon but not normal with implanon hence wshy different to last time

Was told to keep plaster on for 5 days and to keep it dry but just to keep compression bandage on for 24 hours - it was so tight and uncomfortable that it felt like it wasn't helping.

Sounds like this brusing is normal though sleepless your explanation makes sense.

Isn't it just typical to have hideous bruised arms just when the sun comes out!!

I have told DH that in 3 years time it will be his turn to visit the doc ! Grin

I'm going against the grain here and saying not normal. Mine never looked like that, I just had light bruising and didn't have a compression bandage at all. I did however have a really good dr who took it out and then later on inserted one, maybe having them in and out on the same day is what made you bruise or you might just bruise easily
