Fuckity - pulled coil out

TMI alert! Just finishing particulary long period and thinking I'd 'plugged up' last night, tugged at string and away came my copper coil!!! Wtaf! I don't know what to do (besides abstain and get a new one fitted) anyone else ever been this daft?
