After I had DC2 almost 2 years ago I had the nexplanon implant, which I had removed after about 9 months due to weight gain the fact my sex drive was zero. Since then I have been on the pill (Cilest) and I am still carrying the weight, (despite the usual efforts to shift it) and my sex drive is still at rock bottom.
I am considering coming off it and just using condoms, but I would really rather have a longer term and more effective method. I'm put off the copper coil because of how it effects your periods, and would the hormone in the mirena have the same side effects?
Any advice gratefully appreciated! I would like to have an idea in my head of what I want before I go to my GP to discuss it.
Thanks in advance.

I had mirena coil my sis had a copper coil. Honestly, coils are great, copper coil does increase your bleeding. I had no periods for 4yrs Grin.

Nothing is perfect, both take time to settle down and come with side effects. My PMT changed from weepy me to angry me. I would definatley consider them

Oh and mirena can reduce your sex drive which for me wasnt a bad thing Wink

Thank you Cupcake. That's helpful. The copper coil might suit me better as I have light periods and almost no sex drive. Smile
