Copper coil fitted & cramping :(

Hi

I had the copper coil fitted on Friday night, I was told by my GP that I should be ok after about an hour, but ever since the fitting I've had light period like cramping - to the point were its hard to ignore. Is this normal and should it settle down?

I have experienced this with all the coils I've had and it does settle down eventually. If it is persists or gets worse though I would go and visit your GP again. Have you felt the strings to check if it's in the right place?

Also, when you have a period it might be heavier than normal and this is completely normal too - that being said, excessively heavy periods, v.painful cramping and pain during sex might indicate it's in the wrong place (v.unlikely, but handy to be aware of).

Ummmm started a period on Thursday very very painful so I'll be making an appointment on Monday do have it removed
