Essure and ablation

Hi there

I am 41 and have 2 children (9+6) - definitely don't want any more children and I also have awful periods - can't be away from a toilet for more than 90 mins for 3 days every 23 days. Have tried the mirena coil and the mini pill and have had pretty much constant spotting now for 18 months. Currently off all hormonal contraception as it clearly doesnt agree with me.

I saw a gynaecologist today who has recommended that I have the essure procedure done and an ablation at the same time. It will be performed at my local NHS hospital as a day patient under a general anaesthetic. While it sounds ideal in theory have read a lot of negative reviews about the essure.

Has anyone had either of these procedures or both? Would welcome any feedback at all please.

Thanks xx

Alternatively has anyone had a laparascopic sterilisation done as I feel less nervous about that I think! I'm all confused at the moment!!
