Hello I was recently on the mini pill cezzerette and had to come off it as I got very bad pains in my legs and they swelled up the doctor mentioned having the coil fitted as anyone had one fitted and is it. Effecetive and does it hurt when its put in and can your partner feel it in sex

Babe - just seen your post on another thread. I've had two coils over the years but really suffered second time around.

I did find insertion very painful but I guess when you are dealing with a rather sensitive area it goes without saying!!

The worst bit was the 'measuring'. They check the size of your cervix to know how to trim the coil and that really made me say ouchWink I fainted when I had my first coil but second time around I was better and just felt a bit light headed.

Partner should def not be able to feel the strings. I went back for a check up after 6 weeks to check all ok and they checked the string length at the time.

If you go ahead and it's works then it is a fab form of contraception. My first one kept me pain and period free for 5 years. Took a few months to settle down with the odd cramp and light bleeding but after that it was great.

Just wish it had been the same with the second one, hence now trying cerazette!!!
