Depo advice

Just had my first shot of Depo having been on the pill. The instructions say to have within 7 days of last pill. Today is day 6 however nurse told me to use additional contraception for next two weeks.

Just wondering if she is being over cautious? Is anyone able to give me a definitive answer on this? Thanks :-)

What pill were you on? Could the nurse have given you advice for the mini pill and the instructions for the combined pill?

It is 14 days. So use a condom or keep yer legs shut!

Queen - it's the combined pill, can't remember which one.

Norkz - I may have too then :(.

netdoctor says that if the depo is given at any other time than the first 5 days of a normal menstrual cycle then extra precautions should be used for 7 days.

P.s. look at the side effects carefully too. I bled a lot and put on tons of weight and would never have it again
