Bleeding Whilst On The Pill

I started on the pill a month (ish) ago - Micronor - a progesteron only pill (?) I have suffered from endo for some years also but, naturally, it disappeared when I had my son but came back a couple of years ago. Anyway, I am on the pill now and I haven't stopped bleeding for 3 weeks, also I feel terribly tearful, in fact I'm in a bit of a mess emotionally... I don't know what's going on! My doctor said I could expect not to have ANY periods at all and this I welcomed but the opposite has happened - can anyone advise please - Yes, I have stopped taking it now.

Doctors do love to tell you that you won't get any periods on X method of contraception. I've been on Micronor for the last 10 months and still have periods but with the added bonus of them being so irregular that even though I record the day each of my periods start I really couldn't tell you when I'll get my next one - I've had everything from 11 days to 45 days between period start days.

I was very emotional and tearful when I first started taking it but that calmed down after a month or so. I have gone though a very bad period of anxiety and depression while I've been on it. I suspect that the pill hasn't helped but I'm not sure exactly how much it is to blame. I know it is responsible for killing my sex drive though.

There are four other types of progesterone only pill so it's worth trying one of the other types.

this is good information and I am really sorry that you've had a hard time! I spoke to my doctor tonight and he recommends I double the dose from tomorrow as I am apparently on a low dose - he maintains that all will be well, but as you have just described, I have "suddenly" begun a period of anxiety and depression, totally out of the blue which really worries me... I am normally bright as a button.... my sex drive is still in tact though although I had an added problem now of having a ferocious headache just before I am about to climax which is another "new" symptom.... do tell me more, so at least I can compare... thanks.... I am learning alot here!
