Worried about possible infection from coil

Has anyone had this before? I had it removed a couple of weeks ago and have had really bad cramping since, in waves, a bit like contractions in labour. A general feeling of tenderness/swelling in my tummy (thought may be bladder as need to wee a lot and constantly feel like need to wee)

Went to the doc today and he gave me an anti-inflammitory and although palpated my tummy didn't examine me internally. Said my temp was ok and I didn't have a urine infection. I'm wondering whether to go back though, in case i have a uterine infection.

Please can anyone tell me if they've experienced these symptoms before and what it was? Many thanks.

Hi again- am awaiting ring from the Family Planning clinic but they're so busy. The pain has kind of risen into my sides and lower back as well. have taken two codeine/paracetamol tablets along with the anti-inflammatory and it's still painful. Anyone who's had something like this I'd be interested to hear from, am a bit worried.
