Copper coil being fitted today - nervous!

I'm having a copper coil fitted this afternoon and am now feeling slightly sick at the thought. I'm not normally squeamish and don't mind smear tests etc but for some reason I'm quite nervous. Any reassurance out there? Should i take ibruprofen before I go?

Have you given birth vaginally? I have had one fitted both pre and post childbirth. Pre, it was quite uncomfortable, but bearable. Post, I hardly felt it!
I did take some painkillers before I went though on both occasions.

Yes, 2 children delivered normally (albeit about 20 years ago!), so hopefully all will be OK. Thanks for your reassurance!
