Breakthrough bleed on pill - very worried

Hi

Iv been on the pill for many years about 9 months ago I swapped my pill round on the doctor's advice. Last week I had a breakthrugh bleed and it was very heavy and very red. I stopped taking the pill and since I think its just been a period however its been over a week and its still very heavy and very red any ideas ?

I am on the Depo and it normally stops my periods altogether. Apparently they have changed the makeup of the Depo and i bled non stop for a month. Ive sice had another and they have stopped. The new pill probably has different ingredients. They wont give me the pill as over 30 and a smoker

Thankyou fifi, it is so worrying I think im going to try and see the doctor tomorrow I feel so tired and drained and the blood is just not easing.
