Can't remember when I wasn't bleeding - please come and give me some useful advice on contraception post babies...

Quick rundown - DD (DC2) is now 1.

I can't remeber not bleeding at any point in the last year.

Obvious post partum bleeding which stopped.

I then got the contraceptive implant - bled continuously for the 16 weeks it was in until I had it removed (twas also making me a bit nuts).

Back on former pill (Cilest) - I have roughly 7 days a month when I don't bleed and then 2 weeks out from period being due I start light (breakthrough?) bleeding again before my actual period arrives. This has gone on for about 5 months (wanted to give things a chance to settle down, then went back to work and haven't had the time to sort) now and I have made an appointment to see the doctor.

What do I want? I feel as if my body has changed and that the pill is possibly no longer strong enough to regulate my uterus (!) Do I try a different pill or ask for a coil or could something sinister be going on?

Any advice/experiences desperately appreciated.

Sorry for the long post - please help me though!!!

copper coil? I think it has no hormones which I am guessing are making you bleed?

You may benefit from a progesterone only pill, such as Cerazette.

A Mirena coil or depo-provera could also control the bleeding but may well make you bleed irregularly like the implant did, it's a bit unpredictable.

Any bleeding after sex?
Is the bleeding heavy and clotty?
Any sign of infection?

Not particularly heavy - enough to need a tampon but not awful.

Sex - I remember that, we used to have it before we got the 2 DCs under 3 - to my recollection (vague!) - no so think it's just the pill not being adequate?

Yes it sounds like you need a different pill, or method. Hope the doc can sort you out.
