Hi all

hope you can help! Only ever been on 2 pills in my life, microgynon originally, was fab although I put on 7lb - I was VERY slim back then so not a problem! Then after dd I went on cerazette got on with it fabulously... best bit being no periods Grin

came off, had DS - and been back on it since august... have noticed since sept I am REALLY struggling with weight, being really careful but not losing anything - and even putting 7lb on recently - body fat staying low (in relation) .... drinking lots of water - not change! I have suddenly clicked that it might be the pill, as have been a bit blubby for the last month too - is it possible to not get on with a pill as well if you go back on it ? I was all set to get an implant as I heard it was roughly the same dose etc as cerazette but now not so sure!

any ideas anyone? I don't think we will have any more children, but would like a medium term contraceptive to give us time to decidee.....

I was on Loestrin 20 (lower in oestrogen so less side effects supposedly) for years and it was amazing. Very light, short periods and no mood swings/headaches etc.

Then came off it to have DS. A couple of years ago though, my periods were getting heavier and so I asked to go back on it. However, I was crying a lot and thinking I was pregnant - feeling like I had morning sickness all the time. wasn't pregnant, came off it and was fine then.

Haven't gone back on it since but I am sure it's because since having DS, my hormones have changed a lot - hair thinner etc so no, I don't think it will always be the same going back on again.

If you've not used it before though, I would highly recommend Loestrin 20 for few side effects; it was fab.
